Post by: fiend61 on 01 December 2011, 06:52:25
hi all

right i have a ncdc 2013 what i would like to know is if the ncdc2015 telematics unit can be retrofitted to the 2013, i have the chance to get the telematic unit cheap and miss the phone function with the 2013
if this is possible what loom parts would i need to connect to the hu
thanks

ps- i take it that the telematic unit doesnt have to go through the pairing/depairing route ?

IIRC it does, but I'm not an expert. :-\

I reckon TB is probably the best person to answer this.. but I'm sure I recall him writing that the only difference between the 2013 and 2015 was software config and the label on the two front buttons.

Have a feeling the NCDC2013 will be need to told it has telematics, as mine even though it does not have it, thinks it does  ???

I'm going to vote no, it does not need de-pairing but does need to be enabled on the new H/U  :y

thats what i am hoping tunnie  :y  even if it needs a session to tell the h/u that the telematics are there or whether it recognises it when plugged in, so im assuming you have a 2013 which has been configured /or has had a telematics attatched previously and it still thinks its there?
depending on outcomes then i might be able to sell you the telematic unit or have a swap session with your units for mine  ;)

Have considered Telematics, but I think if I did get anything it would be a bluetooth kit  :-\

Problem for me is telematics would be a separate number, having to divert calls, then pay for possible divert, remembering to cancel it when not in the car and so on.

This looks interesting:

Says it uses a standard ISO lead, but music functions would be pointless I think as its Mono input on the NCDC  :(

yup agree sounds ok, but really dont like things stuck to my dashboard etc  ::) that is why i am looking at the standard setup
hmm just thought will have to check i have the microphone in light i take it that this system still uses that??

You can tel de ncdc with the tech 2 that he has a telematica.

Bluethoot is terrible with bose. Like sombody screems to you even on low sound level.

A had a parrot ck 3100 in my omega sounds like hell. have a dual simcard from my provider. only problem is that it works only with 900mhz.

NCDC2103 can run a telematics, although about 5 buttons have the wrong legend on them once configured.

It requires the telematics to be in Delivery Mode (if its not in Delivery Mode, and you don't know the pairing code, its an expensive doorstop).  Obviously requires a chat with a Tech2.  NCDC2013 security code required as well...

thanks TB how would i know if telematic unit is in delivery mode, and would the person im getting it off know the pairing code ??
and the ncdc code is the car code isnt it ?

right that didnt make any sense at all  :-[
what i meant to say is that he person i am getting it off should have had it depaired and know the pairing code?
the ncdc 2013 is in my car and i have the original carpass which i got with h/u is that the security code?

Only the seller can tell you if its in delevery mode (or what pairing code is if its not (although that adds extra complications)).

Yours, if factory fit, and hasn't been molested, it will be car's PIN

If the telematics is NOT in delivery mode, you are in for some pain.  If you have the pairing code for the telematics, and its not in delivery mode, it may be possible to put it in delivery, if you have the pairing code. The pairing code WILL be the car's PIN, assuming it was fitted to that car at the factory, and has not been molested since.

A Telamatics not in delivery mode, without its pairing code, is as much use as a used condom smeared in dogshit.

Hope that clarifies.  Its always a risk unless in delivery mode, as the chances of someone buggering about in the last 8-10yrs is quite high.

@ Jack-V6 with the parrot kit just cut directly into the drivers door speaker and use the mute wire to silence the rest of the amplified system this will stop the screaming :-)

Yes that's right. I'm not going to cut the cables if only in my omega is done with the telematics unit. I bought the dual sim card and its working fine.

Correct, tech2 to depair (in tech2 speak, Deactivate Theft Protection)
