A really interesting job.  I was a learning disability community physio many years ago and had to cover the psychiatric ward from time to time.  I found it really interesting but after being battered frequently don't think I could do it as a job.  Too exhausting avoiding flying toasters! :(

I manage a large drug substance misuse treatment service in the north west, used to be really satisfying but given the 'dangle berries' the government has made of health provision and it's funding it's now driven by stats like a carpet sales team.

Ignore my pessimism it's a rewarding job thats filled with tragedies and succeses sometimes in equal measure

I remember my days working in Psych fondly!  We had an eccentric old man brought in who appeared perfectly fine until he informed us he  had atomic balls! ;D . He wittled on for days about secret this and secret that and was paranoid about the russians listening. We laughed it off as a normal delusion.............. until the security service came and took away their missing top boffin! :o :o :o :o

I haven't (thank the lord) - I've only installed it once under a mostly Windows environment; our head office IT people manage (I use the word loosely) the main OBIEE/Siebel environment over there, we just got to play for a while in a Dev environment :(

I'm learning precisely 0 saleable skills, unless pointing & clicking has become a saleable skill recently!

Trained as a brickie and couldn't find a job so while trades quiet thought I would carry on training in an apprenticeship, doing building maintenance. Bit of everything; bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, roofing, plumbing ect.
I really enjoy it, never doing the same thing, finished top of my class at college. But will be made redundant end of January and not being taken on full time.
So back to square one, trades still quiet down here, but I have more more experience and knowledge now, god knows whats I will be doing in 2 months.

Used to fix broken shit as well as support the shite (IT Tech Manager) Couldnt stand it anymore (after 15yrs) and moved into property renovation 11 years ago.

Now do anything from putting up shelves to full extensions (doing a garage conversion next week). Love it, especially getting a thank you when you've worked ass off (once in a blue moon when in IT). A bit Less money (but enough) a lot less weight, more homelife and happier.

I'm industrial electronic technician as my first skill but a year ago I've taken a oil - gas specific graduation as "supervisor of explode proof  electric equipments" and that's my job as well, nowadays working at a rig. Doing exploration drillings here in (or on? which one, please? ) Hungary. Either thermal water or gas or oil been found up to now. I've been working here for four years I like it, not a boring job. It's whistled we're gonna go to The Near East next year...This is my fourth workplace I think the best so far.   :y

Khm... I mean "explosion-proof" ... ::)

I work for weight watchers, as a weight loss control advisor, which I have done for over 15 years now travelling the country promoting weight loss, chairing seminars etc.. More recently I have spent the past several months giving weight loss seminars in the Stoke on Trent area to local authorities and local trusts, have to say some funny folk up there, but the oatcakes are excellent.  :y
