Hi,
is there two different camshaft sensors for a 2.2 Omega petrol manual?
The fault code is 0304 - camshaft sensor, I have replaced the sensor, but still the engine doesn't fire up.
The code keeps coming back as 0304 - even after clearing the codes.
Is there a way to bypass the sensor? Just to see if it fires up?

Of course you cant bypass the sensor ;D
A 2.2 will start with a duff cam sensor. Might need turning over a few times first though.
But, either you can't type, can't read, or have a really shit reader, as last time I looked, P0304 was a Cylinder 4 misfire, and P0340 was cam sensor ;)

yep - cant type - was in a rush, was P0340.
When you saying the car may need turning over a few times first though - any suggestions how to?
Will a push start down a slight hill do the trick?

As the CrankSensor can sometimes be an issue, can someone tell me the best way to locate it?
I have seen a pic where its located - near the dip stick tube, but what is the best way to get to it?
Under the car or under the bonnet?
The Haynes I have doesn't include the 2.2 so can not see where I am supposed to be looking.

It will start, it just turns over for 3 or 4 seconds before firing. No more.
If you can't start it, I'd suggest you have another problem.

Its basically the same as a 2.0, which is covered by Haynes.
If your crank sensor has failed as well, it won't start (a GM 4 pot will start with either the crank or cam sensor failed, but not both)
