Title: Brake pedal noise?
Post by: jonny2112 on 02 December 2011, 19:36:43
Having recently returned with a new Omega, it's my first FL and coincidentally the first auto. Only been two weeks, and no real issues so far other than the missing CDC3. Still needs tlc and some work, but I'll get there (with your help of course  ;)  ;D)
Tonight though noticed something strange. Pressed the brake pedal to start the car and heard a noise coming from the area of the selector switch. Only occurs when I press the pedal, and sounds like a mechanism or something moving? Never heard it before though it may have been there already.
Anyone any thoughts? More importantly, should I be concerned?
Cheers in advance  :y

Pressing the brake pedal does move a lock on the gear selector, so that you can't select a gear if your foot isn't on the pedal

It's the solenoid engaging that allows you to move the gear shift from Park. Perfectly normal.  :y :y
