looks like my car has had another ecu fitted got codes for car but says wrong security number so looks like different ecu how can i find code for that ecu so that i can get spare key programmed or can code be read off of my key
-
I bought a spare ECU and reader for my previous MIG. I got the reg no and VIN number, and went to a dealer for a car pass. However things are a bit stricter now a days, they might ask for a log book. There may be a way of getting the ECU info via a good garage, but I bet it isn't cheap. Or find someone breaking one and get the set from them, provided they get you a car pass as well. Its a pain in the neck I know, but.....

You can buy TMS370 programmer, remove your immo box, desolder TMS370 chip and read it with programmer. Most TMS370 programmers have function to show vauxhall security code after reading TMS370 chip. :y Or find someone who can do it for you.

Will tech2 do any of this, anybody close ?

As the op is in Milton Keynes it might be worth talking to The Boy as to requirements. But i would think car pas details would be needed, which appears to be the problem. If so its dealer time i guess, and hope they have a record of the ecu change so they can supply the correct details on a new car pass... Or at least the correct details on it. They can be a bit slack in providing the actual car pass itself i gether, but the actual code almost imediately.
TB will be along soon enough no doubt.

Tech 2 will only touch the security systems if it has the code from the car pass, unfortunately.

Interesting. Is this from the immobiliser transponder that lives in the steering column?
-
Yep. I will do some pictures how to do that and will post them in this forum later today. :y

As promised i will show you how to get Security code without Vauxhall dealer. Remember, this is not DIY with no tools or electronics skills. Main tolls needed for this work, desoldering hot air station or another tool for SMD desoldering (I use little gas torch), smd solder, TMS370 programmer.
First you need to remove immo ring from your steering column. Thats how it looks:
(http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/7/immo1.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/825/immo1.jpg/)
You have to open it and find two coil contacts, heat them and lift printed circuit board (PCB). Be careful, do not make damage to any elements!!
(http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/9840/immo2p.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/immo2p.jpg/)
Then you will see TMS370 microprocessor, you need to desolder it. There are so many SMD desoldering techniques, just search on web.
(http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/9607/immo3.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/39/immo3.jpg/)
(http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/1683/immo4.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/851/immo4.jpg/)
Put TMS370 in to programmer:
(http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/5712/immo6.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/856/immo6.jpg/)
Now you must do exactly as showed in pictures, otherwise you can erase TMS370!!!
Start program
(http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/6526/immo7.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/39/immo7.jpg/)
Press OK
(http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/6672/immo8.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/593/immo8.jpg/)
Find FUNCTION>IMMO
(http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/7163/immo9.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/842/immo9.jpg/)
Choose Opel IMMO and press SHOW CODE
(http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6517/immo10.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/827/immo10.jpg/)
Press OK and you will get your security code ;)
(http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9775/immo11.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/32/immo11.jpg/)
(http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/7269/immo12.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/851/immo12.jpg/)
Now you have to put everything back, solder TMS, solder PCB on induction coil, fit immo in to your car. This method is risky, one little mistake and you could damage or erase your IMMO. It is useful only when you have no other option, for example got car from salvage auction and it has no keys and V5. Also it will work only for Vauxhalls made after 1999. In earlier models immo has Motorola microprocessor inside instead of TMS.
Good luck!!!

Hmmm, I have a theory. We may need to play.
Blimey, that car and its codes, doing my head in ;D ;D ;D

Are the 2.6/3.2 ECU,s the same ? It might be easiest to just change the ECU with the ignition transponder keys etc. :-\
Istr RobG had a 3.2 ECU and associated bits a while ago.Might be worth asking/thinking about ? :-\

And still not necessarily know the PIN code? ;)

Ah, so it needs the car pass too ?

If you want yet another key...

Yep. 3.2 ECU, immob.transponder, only one key/chip, complete with the VX carpass

Just wonder, can Tech 2 read immo eeprom data? If it can, i can help you with code. You need to read and save this data, send file to me and i will tell you security code.
