Title: Headlight/ tail light warning
Post by: cuecol on 05 December 2011, 16:25:58
Mystery problem.  My headlight/tail light check came on and I found my number plate lamp gone. Replaced it ok, but warning will not go away. I have checked every light, they all ok. Any ideas please. ta.

Number plate light isn't covered by the lamp check. What car is it? Pre face lift saloons have a stop/tail AND a tail light each side, have you checked both?  :y :y

And don't use cheapo bulbs.  ;) ;)

If qulaity bulbs fixes it, it's to do with the internal current of cheapo ones vs. decent ones.

Halfords bulbs known to cause this issue - either Vx (expensive) or Ring appear to be OK ;)

I had a similar sounding problem - cured by replacing Halfords stop/tail bulbs with genuine Vauxhall ones.  Around 70p each IIRC, not overly expensive!
