Title: oil overfill

hi all
when i bought my omega the garage had over filled the engine whith oil [about 1inch above the max level] will this cause oil to be blown out of the breathers

It might blow out the crank seals

need to drain off oil and get it back to the correct level

It can blow out from all sorts of places,including up past the rings, causing hydraulicing.I wouldnt drive the car again until it has been brought down to the correct level. ;)

You mean you don't fill till the oil is level with the top of the filler neck?  ::) ::) ::) ;D

Saw someone do that on a forklift years ago.Wrecked the engine. ;)

bugger ive been doinng it wrong all these years i will do a complete oil and filter cn
hange tomorow then i know its wright

I wouldnt go back to that garage again if they cant do a simple thing like check oil level god knows what they have done drain it all out get a filter and put fresh oil in it . I went round a friands once and he was trying to top his oil up through the dip stick tube lovely

the garage is where i  bought it from last week i normaly do my own work as i was a motor eng before i was diabled

You mean you don't fill till the oil is level with the top of the filler neck?  ::) ::) ::) ;D
I wondered why the man at vx looked at me funny when I ordered 1 oil filter, and 205L drum of oil for my last service....  ;D

Think that's bad one of our machines at work has two oil fill points imagine the confusion people would face! The lower one MUST be a level plug???
