get your finger in there (when cold) :D and push float up and down a few times sometimes the float gets gunked up and stuck :y also check the electrical connections under the bottle :y
-
Sensor is integral to the coolant bottle, they can be removed but often break!
Second hand is false economy, buy a brand new bottle from the dealer, around £35 on trade, are clear and look much better! :y

Just tried the finger waggling and found the electrical connection was completely detached - do you have to take the Air box/filter off to get underneath to put it back on?
I can't find enough room for fingers.
Any tips?

There is a metal clip which holds the header tank to the inner wing Matt.Prise that off then the tank can slide away from the inner wing giving more access.
-
Just remove the metal clip next to the wing and the header tank slides towards the engine before coming free - there should be enough slack in the water pipes to let you get to the bottom of it.
Far easier than removing the airbox!
