I'd rather spend £20k on a VXR8 and the rest on a deposit on a second house!  :D

So many options for less than half that cash. Badge before beauty imo.

Indeed. If I were ever crazy enough to lavish that much cash on a car (I doubt I ever would, TBH) I'd want something a bit more special than a chavved-up estate agent's car. ;D

Semi-auto box, a million electronic adjustments, and synthesised engine note. Give me an E34 any day... and spend the remaining £80k on bills and petrol...

Isn't this the point though. You didn't know you had an E39 or E60 M5 on your tail until you got a glimpse of the side view (fender & wheels) and you thought 'bugger, I picked on the wrong car'.  ;D ;D

There will always be those out there that hate bmw and what they typecast as a typical bmw driver but they are seriously good motors to drive if you have the money to buy one. Not to everyones taste I know but until you have one you don't notice all of the little things that add up. They are nice to drive so get over it.  ;D ;D  I won't bore you with details but Del knows what I mean.
Some of my German colleagues have new de-restricted M5's and they are quite quick.  ;)

PS.
Please don't send me hate mail as it upsets me.  ;D ;D

Regards
Alan

Indeed. Very well made cars, i have worked on a few, they are impressive generally. However, no mass produced road car is worth 90k. Ever!
Thing is generally the owners think they are, but do so without the first idea how the damn thing works beyond pressing pedals and turning the wheel...although most seem to struggle with those, never mind mirrors and indicators.

YZ250, on reading my comment again, it does sound as though I am being sarcastic. I am not, If my own BMW had two pedals instead of three I would probably prefer it over the Omega!!!!! :o :o
When my lovely Omega eventually goes into the scrap yard in the sky, I will replace it with an automatic 5 series, probably a 530 or 535D. They are fabulous cars :y :y

My apologies Zombie.  :y  I mis-took you for part of the OOF bmw firing squad.  ;D ;D  I can vouch that the big diesels are certainly an eye opener. Any critics should compare mid range figures of 335/535d to its 'M' equivalent. They are amazingly close. In a motor capable of 50mpg, to me that is quite an achievement.  :y

Your last comment may prompt some unwanted replies.  ::) ::)  I predict the words "They are fabulous cars" being highlighted and the words "Yeh but with a knob behind the wheel" being added on the end.  ::) ::) ;D ;D

Alan

E60 535D is an epic drive but sadly I can't live with the look of it :'(

Del, haven't we discussed that you and Beemers just dont mix.  You'll only crash it have someone crash in to you  ;D

But sooner or later he'll find one that's fast enough to outrun his personal accident cloud. ;)

Following that logic, you need to drive the Go-kart a little faster then  ::)

Hmm. there's a thought. ::)
