I fitted a new battery today. The battery I took out had a cover but I believe it was fitted upside down. I did the same but now realise it to be wrong. How in heavens sake do you get the battery with cover the correct way around down into position without the cover folding up.

I used a couple of 'slips' of thin hardboard (but stiff-card, rigid plastic or thin-MDF would do also) to keep the jacket in place and close to the battery sides whilst it all slides down into place....then pull out the 'slips'. :y

That link reminds me of a part of the show were David Carredine picks up the urn containing red hot coals using his forearms the out come of which is the burnt on tattoos that mark him as a master, the bit that was edited out was his voice saying "I wish they would get some handles fitted to this f*cking pot" :)

All beyond me im afraid. back to my post I assume that facelifts had battery covers What is the problem with doing away with the cover what is it supposed to do

Cover fitted the correct way Why would anybody put the cover on upside down? including me but that is how it was when I bought the car, The clamping bolt sheered off so had to drill out and fit nut and bolt Anchor clamp now fits it could not have been holding with cover in the way. New battery bought over net from Battery Megastore 4 yrs guarantee next day delivery good price
