Title: Omega 2.2 TD - Serpent Belt Tensioner
Post by: dave9000 on 13 December 2011, 19:39:47
Hi Everyone,

Had the tensioner go this morning snapping the new belt I had fitted by the AA 2 months ago, got the parts now to replace both tomorrow but can see much in the dark or in the limited space.

Anybody got a picture or illustration showing the position of the 2 bolts retaining the tensioner?

I can obviously see the head of the pivot bolt but where is the other bolt?

Any help appreciated

Dave

EDIT - I just noticed you said 2.2 TD, Have you have the 2.5TD or the 2.2 TDi?

HI Agemo,

I have the 2.2TDI,  I know it looks like I'm asking a stupid question but for'warned is for'armed. I hate not knowing what to expect when I haven't done a particular job before.

No worries, looks like Tidla has come up with the perfect pic for you. If you need any more info, there is a wealth of it here, and very helpful members who know everything!

Thanks for the help, managed to change it now, the bottom blot was a bit of i pig to get to as I air con fitted, the air con hoses are across the front of the engine, just where you need to get the ratchet. I'm glad my son's arms are a little longer and slimmer than mine are.
