Title: Headlamp Warning Light.
Post by: P6UL K on 15 December 2011, 11:43:37
Good morning everyone  :)

My orange light has been on for a while now, speaking to Twigglet a while ago about it he said it would be the ECU (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=95544.msg1196622#msg1196622) that was the issue and that he had one, so i bought it.

Finally fitted it this morning after struggling to find where it was hidden and guess what?  The light is still on! Doh! :-X

Has anyone any further ideas as to what the problem could be?

Have you checked the level sensors front and back :-\ The arms can pop off, simple fix and obvious if they're the problem :y

Are they the drop link arms?  Wheres the rear one, front is N/S IIRC?

Both near side. The O/S one at the back is for the self levelling suspension.  :y

There is also a separate ECU for the Xenons in the O/S front wing :-\

Both front and rear droplinks are all ok and the ecu has been replaced, but the light on the dash is still alight....

Any further ideas as to what the problam could be?

Duff adjuster motor or duff sensor perhaps :-\ Any fault codes :-\ Tech 2 session may be able to pinpoint exact busted component. Not alot else to suggest if it's put the light on, obviously summat amiss. :y

Cheers Al, i'm currently on the hunt for a local Vx dealership that might be able to read my ECU for a Christmas tip, failing that someone from here thats not to far away from me.

You could try switching the lights on (engine off) then jack the front of the car so the wheels are off the ground. This ought to trick the system into adjusting the lights and you'll hear the motors working, assuming of course that they do ::). As a thought, have you changed the headlight switch? Should be front/rear fogs and dash light dimmer, if one is fitted that has the range control on it, that could be the problem :-\

Looks like i may be seeing light at the end of the tunnel!  Had the car on a Vauxhall ECU read (non-Tech2) and its pin pointed the issue!  I hope lol  ::)

"Rear height level sensor"

Off to the parts wanted section i go...........  :y
