Help!!! Just replaced my 2.5 engine, have made sure all electrical connection have been put where they should be,I replaced the crankshaft sensor with the one off old engine as Alb said it wasn't working. I have removed all aircon including the pump and replaced with suitable belt.Engine turns over lovely but no fuel seems to be getting through,I have tried the paper clip test but this keeps coming up with 1 2 only.
Any suggestions or help as hoping to use car in the morning!!!

Mmm, was running lovely in the car a few months ago.Not sure what to suggest at the moment to be honest. :-\
Crank sensor was definitely knacked, but if youve replaced with a known good one,its a matter of checking for spark, fuel etc I suppose. :-\

Cheers Alb haven't checked the spark yet now going to do so the crank sensor on that engine was knackered how sensitive are the wires I am going outside to check it all again.
-
I have done paper clip test and now it shows 31 which I believe is crankshaft sensor how hard are these to replace with engine in situe and remind me again Alb whats is the best way to put the wire?
-
They get hot and brittle ,then break up inside the sleeving. If youve swapped the sensor from your old engine the wiring in the sensor may have come apart when it was disturbed. Having said that I would expect a code 19 if that was the case.
I keep a spare sensor in the boot of my car in case I need it.Your welcome to try it to see if it cures it,but if you need it for the morning.... :-\
Did you change the cambelt ? Sure its all timed up ok ? Although if it was miles out you would be getting the sound of valves on pistons. If its close,it may well run but run rough.
EDIT - I think 31 is just engine not running, but others may know better. :-\
Route the wiring over to the inner wing behind the brake pipes and then connect it to the plug at the corner of the plenum.
Easy to replace in situ.Undo torx bolt beside oil filter and pull sensor out.

You are using the ECU which was on your car, not the one with the replacement engine?
Are you sure the Crank Sensor your using is ok?
-
When the crank sensor failed on my 2.5 it only gave the 31 code (and not a 19).
I think the ECU will tell you if it detects a fault on the crank sensor but it doesn't always do so.

Have tried 2 sensors both admittedly old but know 1 was working on original engine so going to get new sensor in the morning hope this will do the trick if it dont Just gonna have to kick the cat!

Going back out to workshop now to try all connections and check everything again, thankgod I got a nice heater in there.so will check back in about an hout thanks all.
