..... that you see why they are so cheap. (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120828146904?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)

Yup, used Irmscher spring set for a V6 estate.
But bet it might handle funny at the front on corners....
-
Got me beat tbh. Look intact. ???

Right front spring missing its pigtail, despite coils counting in the same.
Amazing what a blob of red nail varnish can cover.....
-
Never did like pigtails ::)
-
Looks like you two can't sleep :o I'm at work so need to be awake :y

Didn't look right initially, but the ends do appear to be there. Rf one is turned 180degrees. Looking directly under the top end of the LF spring, gives the position of the bottom end.
So, apply that to the right front(in pic) spring, you can just see the end of the bottom coil. At about 8oclock position...? No? Orientation of the ends does seem correct.
Base of the coil is almost exact same colour as the floor, which doesn't help.
Put another way. The top end over laps the bottom end by about two inches, on both afaict.

Got woken by a couple of drunken yahoos giving it large outside. ::)
They didnt appreciate a large lump of disgruntled black Labrador barking round about them - accompanied by my dulcet tones asking them to disperse to their beddy bies.....
Now wrapping myself around a hot toddy.... :y
-
Correction. 9 o'clock position on bottom of rh spring. Under the second coil shadow. Barely visible..... ???

To my eye, bottom of front left one needs a rotate anti by a quarter tun to match same position in front right one.
If you take that move to the top of the springs, the front right one falls short as evidenced by lack of end taper....
-
.... or count upwards from each where the pigtail meets bottom spring and compare numbers....
-
I think chris has it. it looks like they are intact ???
-
good price, how much to post to me. :-\
-
For a fiver, buy them, I'll refund you if they are busted. Only a fiver mind. ;D
-
Brother lives in genk and is over on boxing day and Leverkusen is only about 1 hour from him :-\ how much would they cost over here

I'm not convinced the fronts are a whole matched pair, TBH, despite the comments of yourself and Chris.
Irmscher springs are a relatively rare beast so, if you have the ability to uplift and transport, I recon they are worth a punt if you have a local contact.
Probably worth a couple of quid just for the rears...... :y
-
up to £300 possibly? Max?
If I had an estate I would have them. Put it that way. Seen Irmscher springs in far worse nic, paint flaking off etc, but not broken. Although that means nothing tbh.
Although apart from being red, there's little evidence they are Irmscher. I would want to see the part no.s printed on them before parting with serious cash.
Appologies for slow replies, battery issues.

I think a call to my brother in a few hours and get him to have a look at the advert as he works for Ford in the drawing office and for that price even if they go to £20 got to be worth it don't you think ???

Once you are happy, aye.... :y
-
I've been up a long time and am getting old but worth a look :y
-
Yep. Doubt they'll go for that though. That said, I haven't chacked interest. Are they being watched? Or what ever? I hate eBay. So not familiar with using it...
Would expect the price to shoot up in the last 0.00001 of a second of the auction.
-
Answer to question a bottom of page say's they are off a 2.5 but does not say how old they are
-
if they were saloon I'd take a punt!
-
compared to the price of new OE lowered MV6 springs for an estate, even at say £150 for the full set, they'd be worth it (if intact and not fubarred)
(i have just such a set of new OE lowered springs.... and my wallet STILL aches, despite AndyC's bestest best efforts at getting a sensible price..... let's just say, it's over £200 just for the rear pair..... )
-
sadly my brother , while in germany at least, is still 3 hours from them..... a bit of an ask really..... (he's just outside stuttgart )
or i'd grab em....
-
Been on the phone to my brother who is only about 80 miles from the location but seller will not post outside Germany and as my brother is only just over the border looks like they will go for the low price they are at :(
-
Can your brother not buy them, then send them over? :-\
-
No, I e-mail'd the person on ebay to ask if he would post to my brother in Genk Belgium only 80 miles from seller location but he said he would only post to Germany. They sold for under £50, to late now :( ???
