Try pushing/pulling any rods that you can see in their intended line of travel whilst pulling the inside handle. :y

Other possibilities are: lock motor failure, shoulkd be a linkage of some sort on the end of the solenoid. Or a wiring fault in the door loom, usually a break where the loom dissappears into the door. Very common on Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambras, so not beyond the realms of possibility on others. :-\

The central locking solenoid/motor is the next thing then. :y If you can see it, it should have wires at one end and a mechanism at the other. Try levering the mechanism up/down. If it moves try the inside handle, if it doesn't move, then try it the other way.

does the motor make a noise when you lock/unlock the car? If not then the problem is either a failed lock motor or a wiring fault. :-\
