??? i drive mine hard as rule so dont really bother me ;D ;D ;).But thats not to say you may have a problem :-\
-
what problem could it be then ???
-
try changing autobox fluid
-
or check oil level in gearbox :-\
-
Have you tried the auto box solenoids
Is there a thud when the box goes into 2nd gear ?

top up oil first :y

Service auto box every 60k.
Whats the sift quality like? Any revving? Loss of drive or thumping?
-
do you have to go to a main dealer for autobox oil change :y :y yes to all what you said i think there is a little jolt when changing gear very very minor can hardly feel it not sure ???
-
Dealer is the last place you go for work on a car. Parts, with a trade club card, possibly. Service dept... break in NO ! Although there are some decent ones about, odds are against even half decent service.
You'll get ..... ooh they are sealed for life, you need a torque converter, valve body, ecu, new box, ah none of those have fixed it....an insignia sir?
IMO service the auto box fluid with decent dex3 ATF and change the 1st to 2nd solenoid while the sumps are off.
-
If the autobox itself is delaying changes for some (mechanical or hydraulic) reason there will be fault codes stored in the ECU, so worth getting it read for codes as a first step, IMHO.
Pulling away with gentle throttle and a fully warmed up engine I would expect it to slot into 2nd well under 3000 RPM but the problem with diagnosing problems like this is that we don't all have the same definition of "gentle throttle". ;)
-
the problem i find is that if its DBW it has a tendancy to be more responsive than say a cabled throttle set up,just my opinion ;)

A great excuse for "accidentally" leaving people standing at the traffic lights, too. ::)
