Title: What would need doing after being stood for over a year?
Post by: baby2bubble on 19 December 2011, 00:20:28
Hi,

I previously posted about an Omega Elite having engine trouble, diagnosed a few times as the cams and needing a new engine. Well, the plan was to break it and Ive started listing some parts elsewhere (mainly ebay  :'( )

We are now thinking, he may be better to sell the car he now runs and get this Omega back on the road as its a great car so...as the car has been stood for over a year, what would you advise would need doing to get it back up and running? Apart from a replacement engine and I'd say the breaks will need doing (hoping the calipers are not seized), what else would need checking?

Its a wonderful car with Steinmetz and Irmscher bits and he loves the car but I dont want to suggest it if it could just be one big drain on his wallet getting things right  :-\

Cheers

Something I would normally think of but passed me by this time  ::)

Still, it has no insurance now so might have to see what I can do with getting out to one...plus I dont really want him knowing yet, bad enough that its took a year to come round to selling it.
