Title: New Wheels on my wagon
Post by: Omega_Dan on 19 December 2011, 12:30:33
With the assistance of Mike (Gooseman) Got some Elite wheels fitted to replace the CD wheels. Thanks to Mike for the wheels and company and they have made a nice difference to the look of the car. Here are some pics.

Massive improvement Dan!!  :y

Just a quick note though.  They are actually MV6 rims, rather than Elite ones.  ;)

Do you want a set of front fog lights for the old girl?

I thought they were used for MV6 and Elite but i could be wrong. Im in two minds about front fogs lights. One one hand it will complete the MV6/Elite look but on the other hand i quite like the way the front looks without them. Opinions welcome though folks.

The elite wheels are very subtly different. The 5 spokes are completely flat, whereas the MV6 one have the design detail line about an inch in from the rim.  :y

They should look good, as the wheels have recently been refurbished and nearly new tyres as well  ::) .

Think Dan just got so excited about the wheels on his car, that he didn't keep hearing me tell him they're MV6 wheels  ::) ;D.

You know where I am if you want anything else Dan - though better be quick though  ;) ;D  :y

And here's the proof that Dan couldn't wait to get tucked into ripping the wheels off mine and putting them on his.

I did help out to, honestly.  And not just presssing the camera shutter button either  ::) ;D

Taking the nice Mv6's off mine
(http://i999.photobucket.com/albums/af113/om3g22tf/Dan282changingwheels1.jpg)

And putting the CD's on my car so I can still use it  ;D
(http://i999.photobucket.com/albums/af113/om3g22tf/Dan282changingwheels3.jpg)

I didn't supply the tea and biscuits, but did lend the waterproofs and donated the locking bolts, along with a working jack for Dan, as his seemed as if was going to give up work altogether!!

Also what you can't tell in the photos, is that it had tried to snow prior to him fitting the wheels, luckily it held off though.
Mind you, how Dan was feeling chuffed with his new wheels, I don't think if he had gone back home soaked to the skin it would of cared!  ::) ;D  :y

In addition to the free jack mike also gave me some Dixie horns which i fitted today for a bit of a laugh.  :y

Looks a bit of a bodge job but i used the bracket from the original horn and added some cable ties for extra support as the metal for the bracket is very thin.

Have to agree. Mine has the late Elite wheels, not the five spoke style. Was going to be on my wish list to change, but getting used to them now and may refurb and keep them.

Hijack over  :-[

Just a quick question Dan, can i ask why you used 40mm springs at the front and 30mm springs at the back when you lowered your MiG?  I'm about to lower mine all round on 30mm but now i'm surious if it won't sit level?
