Title: just gave the stopwatch a workout
Post by: keith2.2 on 17 March 2008, 20:48:40
after doing what I suspected was a much needed oil change, I thought I'd go out and see the difference in feel.

Whilst doing so, I couldn't help route via a little-used 'link-road' near me. It's a fairly new, totally flat and pretty much straight 2km stretch of road between two roundabouts a few miles from my house. Having warmed the engine, I thought I'd try 0-60 and in-gear acceleration.

8.4 secs to 60, and the overtaking acceleration as only half a second behing the MG ZTV8. So seems pretty healthy!

...couldn't really think of any other reason I'd want a stopwatch on the trip computer  :-[

well I thought of that but i run faster without an omega strapped to my belt. My Timex ironman is much more user friendly!

it's an auto! so other than holding it on the brake at 1500rpm, there's not a lot other than 'boot it' to do!

Interestingly; sport mode takes just over half a second off.

didn't think to try LPG at the time! doh!

Would be interesting. Mine is a very old one which I picked up cheap. It predates all the GPS and track mapping stuff but does what I wanted at the time. Be nice to play with some of their more modern toys though. :D
