I'm having some problems with mine, and wonder if anyone else has the same, or if it works well.
I am running the original ECU.
-
What problems are you having Andy? Home made headers, or after market perhaps?
-
When I press the pedal all the way the engine cuts all power, and my idle is going from 600 - 2000 on a hot engine, it's not going between these numbers, but sometimes it's 600, other times it's 1200/1500/2000
-
Try cleaning the idle control valve. :y
-
Yeah but that does not explain why all the engines powers are cut, does it?
but i'll check into it.
It's aftermarket headers btw
-
Could it need remapping?
What headers, and how much? Link?
-
Is it possible to remap the ECU?
It's these:

Just got an email from the ones that make it, and they did not think it would have anything to do with the headers

Via chip, yes. Will need to be specific map to your car though. The best petrol chip is for oe header engine. So I guess you'll be in new territory.
Oe headers are said to be the most restrictive part of air flow through the omega engine. So if that's the case yours may well be running lean at the top end if the stock fuel system can't keep up... "IF" it's a fueling problem.
I guess your in rolling road territory for set up now....?
Keep us informed though if you would be so kind. There might be a few on here interested in this project.
Where did you get the headers? Surprised they include the coolant transfer pipe though, if that's what it is?
-
I've been wondering about if there is any gain putting 3.2l fuel injectors and 4bar fuelpressure regulator.
I'm currently overhauling an engine(x30xe), so most probably nothing will happen until its finnished.
I'll keep you informed
The coolant pipe does not include, and the headers do not come wrapped.
If you look for a thread of mine in Omega general help, you will find info about the headers

Yes found in your history. Headers hit the steering and no good for auto. That's not good is it? :o
-
I have no trouble driving arround with it, and i got a manual, so i don't care :P
This is where the steering hit the headers on a hard left turn

Would it take much to alter them?
-
Any fault codes?
Given the revs are bouncing up and down and its hesitating badly I would be checking for air leaks etc as a start.

No fault codes, checked at opel dealer.
Idle is not going up and down, but from time to time i can be a different idle.
sometimes it's 600 other times it can be 1500.

Alter them to miss the steering and the auto box...?

I'm not really shure, but i guess the exhaust wil hit the "cluch housing" on the auto, it looks bigger, and the oil cooling lines.
I will check into the steering when i get the time.

I would replace the idle valve with a known working one, ive had this problem before erratic idle and cutting out/jumping while driving mine was more noticable while on full throttle it would jump or die for a few seconds. very rare for an idle valve to cut an engines power while driving as its not used while up in the revs. but it happens.
3.2 injectors if i remember right dont flow as much fuel as 3.0 injectors so not a good upgrade. but a 3.8-4.0 bar fuel pressure regulator may help.
with a set of headers you really need to get a mappable chip fitted and get it on the rollers.
have fun :)

Tried changing the idle valve with no help, afraid it might be the ECU.

know 2 people who have them fitted and they don't have any issue with out remap or chip car
Have look your lambda sensor maybe they play

Interesting and noted. Some diagnostics then...?
-
What else was changed / disturbed on the car when the headers were fitted?
As long as they are airtight they won't cause a serious running issue and won't need a remap to get it running acceptably, IMHO, so look for things that might have been disturbed in the process.
What has happened to the EGR? Blanked off with no leaks? Is the rest of the induction system OK? Throttle body and pot OK and original? Throttle closing fully and not tweaked using the stop screw? I have heard of similar symptoms when the throttle body and TPS didn't match the vehicle loom... If the plenum has been changed for a long one, for example.
Does it stop if you pinch the rubber hose into the ICV? If not, the air is getting in somewhere else.
Can you post some live data from it?
