I might just buy this one if it does'nt go too far over 2k. I've spoken to the seller & he knows his Mk3's. He's got a Crayford & a GXL. Can't go wrong with the 2.0 pinto & even if it did blow up it's no great shakes to rebuild. It's not the slopey dash tax exempt i was after but this could be my only car. No need to run a newer one as well so saving in two lots of ins. maintenance, tax etc. I'll be buying another small 2 berth caravan later this year for OOF & classic meets so the towbar is a bonus. No reason why she should'nt go down to Sussex to visit Dad.....
For those of us of a certain age i still have a void bush puller in the workshop!!!!

For those of us of a certain age i still have a void bush puller in the workshop!!!!
I had to buy the top bolt across the upper wishbone when I replaced my void buses because it was that seized & I had to drill mine out. It was about £20 IIRC & in the early 80's that was a lot of money for a young apprentice. :'( :'( :'(

Hello mate. Sold the Mk1 for £1750. She was registered in Croydon. I was born in Croydon....according to my log book but no service history!...& she's now found her way back to ..you guessed it...Croydon!
Must've been a good'un, he drove her back from Immingham...She always was a good old bus!!

im so ashamed 20 odd years ago we would by mk3s take them over the woods and drive and smash them up then burn them all for a good laugh.we have over 30 hours of video only wish we had keept them so sorrey .

I had a long chat with an old mate of mine over Xmas who now lives in Toronto. He ,and I too , had an affliction in buying any old or affordable Opel that came our way back in Scotland years ago. Unlike me he kept his and has kept adding to the collection which now stands around 30 cars ,although even he is unsure ..... ::)
Anyway this is the one I would dearly love to have shipped over to the Emerald Isle ,

wish id keeped some off mine , mk 2 cortina lotus , mk2 crayford cortina,mk 1cortina estate 1500 delux with colum change and bench seat,mk 1 escort van, mk 1 escort mex ex works,porshe 911 2.2 lemans 1970 just like steve mcqeens in the film ,to name just afew ive had. ::)

thats just some of them dude im afflicted by the infernal combustion engine so my old ma used to say,
how about 1960 splitty camper,mk 3 cortina gt ,mk 3 cortina gxl ,de tomaso pantera, 68 corsair with a 3.1 triple carb v6 up front ,xr4i mustang powered,xr4-4 tweeked ha ha .landrovers ,rangerovers did a rough tally once since ive been driving 60 plus motors alot of which ive restored, luv it just like to tinker and if you get a result at the end beter still i finished a mk 1 escort van first show it took 2nd in master class against cars and bloke offerd me £ 10,000 on the spot should have keeped that one, my works mex went though auction for a huge amount few years back nice in my pension fund now.
should have my steinmetz estate restored by vauxhall show at the pod this year, new shocks just arrived for front just paint to do.

Don't be sorry. We all did daft stuff when we were younger that we'd never do later on. If we did nothing stupid when we were young we'd have nothing to look back on once we were old enough to know better. I could kick myself at some of the cars i killed banger racing MANY years ago, nearly killing myself in the process at times. Anyway that was'nt a MK3!!!!

The HS went for just over 11 grand. :o..............Should have kept mine.Sold it for £2300 when it was 4 years old. ::)
