Title: Mondeo ST24 starting issue
Post by: pscocoa on 03 January 2012, 07:55:49
So much for a quiet day:

Son in law has sent text at 7.15am saying he has gone to work by train - his ST24 1997 will not start - plenty of power when key turned but "something of a groan" from starter - a few starter motors on ebay for this model at average £30. his recovery plan does not include home start so I will be over there shortly. Any views - maybe recommended damp start products first (not used damp start in years and years)??

At same time my wife has left her keys and phone so have to take them to her and it is not 8 am yet!!!

Oh and supposed to drive to Cornwall later tonight.

keep away from easy start stuff as causes lots engine wear and can cause premature failure, if starter duff i have one in garage from a st24 i had that i broke,

Thanks Adey - since I got it started it has been fine. Starter motor seems good - but thanks - good to know.
