Title: The value of 4 wheel alignment!
Post by: jtypecav on 05 January 2012, 00:44:43

Only having RWD in the comfy MV6 I was astonished when the car developed inner edge wear on the front nearside tyre.

I was shocked at how out it all was, yet still drove reasonably well - luckily the rears had at least seized in an appropriate position (and look to never have been done!)

On a 450mile run up to Scotland compared to a similar run the adjustments saved 2mpg! Good to find a place in Bristol that is up to the task - I wasn't looking forward to a drive across the country for WIM - even if their reputation precedes them. So happy I got it sorted despite it needing to be at this time of year. Even if 5mm doesn't sound much.. the pic shows it was definitely in the red beforehand! A pic I didnt take was all dead centre in the green, but I have a printout too. Was well happy for the pennies.

I'm going to need this too, as my steering wheel is 'off'. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid?
Cheers

I hope they set the camber up well as its that which will have eaten the inner edges

I hope thats the 'before' settings, and that they didn't set it up to be in the middle of that green area :o

He did do the camber too, the only reason I went to get it done was because I noticed it was eating the inside fronts. The picture was the 'before'. He did say that he didn't set it for the middle regions to allow for the car when it was under load and that there was a certain place that it had to be set to for the Omega. He seemed familiar with the cars and their issues too. It was much better to drive the 800 miles afterwards and as I say the MPG was up! I've got a printout of the figures somewhere. Cost me £40 for all 4 corners so I'm happy even if it does turn out to not be 100% by the book!

That's who it was Rob!

Brought the business card in and it says it's part of the franchise too. Say Andy with the gold omega told you about it and he might do a deal too! He was aware of the Ascona I drive too as used to live in Bristol!
