Title: Idle bugger!!
Post by: Anthony in Madrid on 05 January 2012, 20:00:42
Does anybody have any ideas why my 2.5 V6 Omega B2 stops on idle rpm after a while? The things I`ve changed and after this situation occurs:

Ignition coil
Spark plug leads
Injector rail (but not the injectors)
Vectra B alloy rocker cover to stop oil leaks
idle motor (but it is on now for 3 weeks and had no problems until I changed the things above).

NO engine control light is litted. So something different related to electronics. ?Idle valve tuning screw? Vacuum pipe?

Thanks for helping!

Better make sure you keep the breathers really clean otherwise you`ll be changing the front crank oil seal

as per Robs post, Vectra cam covers are absolutely fine as long as you are religious with breather maintenance :y

Clean and light oil the idle control valve, as Ot says. Do not attempt to adjust the tickover speed. The idle valve tuning screw is usually sealed over, if not, implies its not a new one???

Generally....
Stall at idle, clean icv.
Stall on open throttle, crank sensor.

So does sound like an icv issue.
