Title: Still in shock.
Post by: zirk on 05 January 2012, 21:58:01
Found out last night that a very good friend of mine was killed the night before in a RTA, strange thing is I was with him that eveing and was probanly the last person to speak to him before He died only about ten minutes later.  Aparently He was hit head on by a coach that was overtaking on His side of the road, coach vs fiesta, didn't really stand a chance did He.

Dispite being kept busy at work today, Ive been thinking about Him all day, poor sod, Ive know John for about 20 years, He's one of the top blokes you could ever wish to meet and would never say boo to a goose, think the reality of it all has yet to settle in.

RIP John.

Very sad news indeed. Horrible feeling when its someone so close to you.
a schoolkid  got knocked down and killed up the rd this afternoon and the driver didn't even stop.

Sobering news indeed - sudden death will always bring the fragility of life into sharper focus.

I hope all concerned - family, friends and acquaintances - get all the strength necessary in the coming weeks to deal with the aftermath of this devastating incident .

That's really tragic. I think that, while any sudden death is hard to come to terms with, these circumstances carry an additional emotional burden for all those who knew him.

RIP John. :'(

Hello Zirk sorry for your loss i too had a really good friend die in a RTA 6 months ago and i was called by a friend that was driving behind him at the time and went to the scene where he was but he died instantly and i had his dad trying to ring me and at that moment the police confirmed he was dead and told me not to answer the phone. I could see him there still in the car and the helicopter turned up but flew straight off i was only about 10 ft away from where he was i still wish to this day i never went over there it will haunt me for the rest of my life and he had a little girl that was 2 and his new girlfriend was 6 months pregnant and that made it all the harder. But all i do now i try to help as much as possible and try to forget but its hard some times.

He'd want you to spend time with his mates & family to give eachother support & comfort to help with the grieving. We've just spent our first christmas/new year without Mum so i know how you're all feeling. Guy.
