Sold my Veccy V6 sri on ebay on sunday and the buyer arranged to collect today. He eventually arrived three hours late, took the car for a test
thrash drive and said it was a fast and sound car. The car was advertised as having no tax he then gave me the sob story that he would have to drive it home with no tax and said he would give me £200 less than he bid (which was £500) because he had to risk the drive home and have to tax it if he made it back. I told him to catch the train home at which point he said to me that i have no heart!!!!! Needless to say i am still the owner of a veccy and the t**t got a peice of my mind and very nearly a peice of my right hand too.
I am very pi**ed off >:( >:( >:(
Sorry for the rant

iam not well up on e-bay but how could he do that ,you didn't break the rules
-
If you leave him negative feedback and write why future buyers from you will see why, especially if he leaves you bad feedback :y

I hope the tosser had a long and difficult journey home. I've met people like him before. >:(

Do you thik he was a chancer just hoping you were desperate for the money so would take anything. :o
-
Nope, broke no rules at all, the car has a good MOT on it but i did state there was no TAX, it has a new cambelt kit and diss pack and looks a fair motor, what do folks want for £500? It's done 77,000 miles and is good for another amount. AHHHH i'm pi**ed off
-
I would definitely report it to Ebay as a non paying bidder.
I'd also be wary about letting people test drive/thrash your car, in case they are lying about insurance.

Yep, just on the case now Daz. :y

inform ebay, if the ad states the lack of tax then he has no leg to stand on, i'd be happy to risk my feedback, cos people can still see where negative feedback is justifiable and they'll also see feedback given by someone who "didnt get their own way"
-
No offence to eBayers -- am one meself .... but there are some right royal, fur lined ocean going tw*ts on there!

So am i, i just would not fook anyone about.............what a shame all peeps are not the same. If i had sold the car as a minter with full T&T then all well and good, But when i tried to be as honest as i could be and set a reserve af £500 for a 77,000 mile car, and get s**t on it does p**s you off >:(
-
I know what you mean mate -- at least you still have the car -- he could have paypaled £200 deposit -- paid balance when he collected the car -- then charged back the deposit when he got home --- knowing paypal, he would probably have got away with it too !!!!

Had the same happen to me but not through e-bay. Had for sale sign in back window of my Honda vti and a bloke stopped me to ask how much i wanted. Told him the price and he said no problem and he seemed very keen. We exchanged mobile numbers and he pestered me for a week every day wanting to know when he could view the car "properly". Came down from Bedford a week later and proceeded to thrash the b*****ks off it on a so called test drive >:(. He saw i had just bought my miggy estate and offered me £400 less than the asking price saying the cat was blowing and the engine wasn't pulling like it should. Told him to take a hike and stop wasting my time as i had just had a new stainless exhaust system fitted and the cat checked and a full service done 3000 miles previously. The car was taxed but had only 2 months MOT, all he knew about beforehand. My miggy has taken centre stage for a while with a few small jobs that needed doing and needless to say honda is still in my garage. Just don't know what pleasure they seem to get wasting our time. >:(

leave the tosser loads of neg feedback if he does likewise you can put a reply to his response in your own feedback so others will be able to see that the prick was a complete ar**hole

Wow, cheeky git!! >:( :o

If he'd turned up earlier in the day he'd have had time to sort the VED out before he set off homeward. SWMBO's car was bought with no tax, a short trip down the road to the Post Office, with the green slip from the V5 soon sorted it.
