Title: TD Thermostat Seal

I've just removed my 2.5TD thermostat which all came out in a hurry with the housing. I am now not sure which side the seal should be. There is a suitable recess in the block to take a seal, however neither the old or new thermostat appear to sit flush in the housing without a seal between the stat and housing. Can anyone remember which side the seal goes please? Not a job I want to guess!!! ::) ::) ::)

Edit: Found it in the BMW engine notes, it fits between the housing and the stat. :y

Housing (with O-ring) fits over the 'stat and thence seals it to the lump. ;)
