hello everyone
i changed my cam cover gaskets today i was wondering if it would be safe to pressure wash the under neath the engine to get rid of the oily mess
your advice would be helpful

Neither would I normally, but have done previously.... :-[
If you are VERY carefull and trigger spray degreaser onto offending area, well away from electrical contacts and similar, you MIGHT get away with it as I did. Or you might not and be in a whole shitload of bother. Your call...
With the benefit of 20/20 hindsight, I am now happy to use a couple of cans of brake cleaner, equally carefully applied to rinse of the oil deposits as best as possible.
However, oil will dry/burn off quite quickly, given time, long runs and deep puddles in wintertime..... ;)

Cant see the underneath being to much of an issue as at the end of the day thats what happens when you drive at speed in the pouring rain

Used gunk aerosol and a hose on mine. Seems ok tbh.
