I suggest your first action is to do the Paperclip test. (see Maintenace Guides section) and then post the codes shown onto the Forum for evaluation. A list of codes and expalanations can also be found in the Maintenace guide section.
If code 19 appears then this will indicate Crankshaft sensor problem and probable replacement necessary, but do the codes test first.
Good luck.

cheers ScaniaV8
will try that & let u know

tried paper clip test, comes up with 31

Code 31 tends to almost always appear if you don,t have the car running when you flash up the codes,so try it running and see if it still brings 31 up. :y

hi amba, cant get car started since saturday
-
Code 31 indicates rpm signal,so will always appear when engine not running and you flash up code.
If it turns over but will not fire worth checking for any oil contamination ontop of plugs.Pull each lead off and check for any oil,but sounds like the crank sensor could be your problem .

:y good advise everyone crank sensor was naff running sweet as a nut again :)

Worth cleaning throttle body and ICV too, guys? :-\

Just hope you fitted a genuine VX Crankshaft sensor as after market replacements are notorious for early life failures!! Genuine VX part with a Trade Card approx £65.00
Good luck...hope the car is now reliable again for long term.

new part same as old bosch £67.00 easy to fit too. v/x part £104, lucky there :)
