Title: Why are some people such law breaking fekkers???
Post by: Webby the Bear on 10 January 2012, 23:38:39
Just watching Traffic Cops and there was one guy who had gone to put petrol in his car with false plates on. Then went to the car wash and changed the plates back (away from cctv) and drove off without paying.

They arrested him and also found out he was already disqualified from driving and had no insurance!  :-\

Why?

Message today from a Police officer, work wise, got my message, NFA relating to client, but if want to chat about the case, or life in general, give him a ring, clerk said he had a right old sense of humor...... :y :y

It's very often the smaller offences, that lead to the detection of bigger ones.

For example, it's quite common to detect someone driving with no insurance / otherwise than in accordance with a licence / disqual / drugs on board, etc, simply because they've been tugged for something like not wearing a seatbelt / using a phone.... whereas, had they not been drawing the attention to themselves, they'd never have been stopped!

Rant on ....

ANPR, CCTV, More powers, etc, etc will never stop scum from being scum they will always find some way to try get around it and sometimes succeed.

All that happens is that law abiding citizens will continue to be caught for unintended minor infractions and made into law fearing criminals themselves.

Rant off ....

Thats why Mrs Terbert hates me watching those programmes...I watched last night, and I was getting really uptight >:( Why we have a police force I'll never know.
The amount of time and money wasted because of slick talking lawyers gets my dander right up. Take last night...its all on camera, except the road rage bit....so all in all, what was the cost out of all the cases featured, for one police caution. >:(
And the low life scum know they can get away with it....yet as was said in a previous post, when I get a police car behind me and am doing nothing wrong, my britches start to feel rather damp :) :)

Why?

Quite simple Bear - the system of justice in this country allows them to do so and, in simple terms, the expectation that many people now have of getting something for nothing - as a right - and the tendency for them to take it whatever the cost to the victims or to society as a whole.

The law only affects law abiding people. The pricks in power should realise this, and make sure existing laws are enforced before bringing out new ones.

By your definition, the law doesn't affect a lot of them either. ;)

Because there is no deterrent. He's not paid insurance which will have saved him possibly £1000s and he's possibly filled up many times before and gotten away with it. He'll probably end up with a £100 fine and another ban which won't make any difference because he's already disqualified. OK he might have had his car taken off him but all he needs is someone with insurance to go and collect the car or if its a nail, let it get crushed. Unfortunately, it makes economic sense to be illegal these days because the courts aren't hard enough on the scrotes >:(

Exactly my sentiments. It's cost effective to be illegal on the road nowadays.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

It always annoys me when at the end of Police, Camera, Action (or similar) when you've just watched an unlicensed driver get pulled over driving a stolen merc with 3 pounds of coke in the boot, when at the end of the program the narrator says "this man escaped prosecution due to lack of evidence".

WHAT ABOUT ALL THE rather VIDEO EVIDENCE THEN????

I think its some ridicolous figure now that 3 out of 10 drivers are uninsured  :o

Thats why the insurance remains the price it does your always going to be paying for all the unisured in the event they have an accident  :(

& the no win no fee "lawyers". who pay the police & insurance companies for details of the slightest mishap then bombard some poor so & so with letters, texts, emails etc. asking you to hang your gaffer out to dry because you got your jeans dirty or got hiccups at work who push insurance costs up.

This must be as close as you can get to legal fraud. They should be struck off & the whole practice become illegal.

It gets my goat when a constant offender gets his wrists slapped for say no insurance but then you get someone who has made a genuine mistake and they get bent over by the magistrates.
