Ok, airbag light has been on for a while now. Plugged in my duff code reader to read code & try reset. Reste and it just comes back on again showing driverside airbag squib high resistance.
Had seat out and made sure everything is connected ok, so the question is what do I need to replace??? any ideas?
-
I used to suffer with this a lot, its the airbag in the seat back.
Cleaning the connector would often reset mine for a variable time.
I replaced the airbag....fault persisted.
I soldered the connector by the door sill as per TIS, fault persisited
I guess wiring or ecu will need replacing if neither of these work.
Never fully got to the bottom as I sold the car.

well that's going to be a bugger then with the 2012 MOT rules. It's a failure for the airbag light to be on (think it was just an advisorary before?).
-
I'm a bit confused.......
I posted about this very same thing last year - driverside airbag squib high resistance
My understanding then was that it was the seat airbag (as in above post)
Got very clear info on here that it's the Steering wheel Airbag and that replacing usually fixes.
So, can anyone confirm seat or steering wheel? ???

The key word is SIDE :y
that means its the seat, assuming tool reporting correctly.
If you want to post the code, we can double check :y

Well FINALLY got round to looking at this, as have been driving the RX8 instead (and because MOT is due on 7th July)!!! Took seat out, back off of it and cleaned all the connections I could find. Put it all back together, reset the airbag light and WEEHAY!! all is now resolved.
RX8 can go back to being a weekend runabout again.
Thanks all for your help and input.
