Title: Sampling Fan on climate control
Post by: Corrado1441 on 13 January 2012, 00:18:11
Should the sampling fan on the climate control of a 1996 Omega always run ? If it's faulty what size PC fan should I replace it with ? Want to have all parts bought before I do any dismantling

Thanks

When on yes it should.

The standard fan is actualy a stepper motor and its usualy the drive electronics that give up the ghost.

I have fixed two and for both I used a 25mm x 25mm x 10mm 12V fan and connected it up to the outer four pcb through holes for the four pin stepper motor fan.

You do have to modify the housing slightly and from memory, the repalcement fan gets screwed to the upper plastic housing.

Ahh, I took some pictures of this procedure once and meant to do a guide. I wonder if I can find them... ::)
