I love these but this is too much for me to take on. Thing is i know some folk who would tackle the restoration & make a good job of it. I also know others that would cage it up & banger it!!!

I would restore but it would be a mission and a half to say the least!
-

Unfortunately have to agree as much as it pains me. Love these cars but this one really would be a true labour of love.
-
My mates dad had one of them.Nice motor but this one will cost to much money and free time.
But if someone loves those type of cars why not.
-
Restore. Then into a nice period livery, ready to race.

Gosh there's a blast from the past!
Used to take the diesels out and put a Granada V6 in - oh the good old days before ECU's etc! ;D
-
I'd defiantly say restore, and then keep it for a while after. Wouldn't it be lovely to say this is how it was when I got it, do it all up and then show people how it is after it's done :y You could do it Guy :y

What difference does the ECU make?
A bloke I know has had a tidy mid 90's Transit with a 24v Cosworth in it for some time. Julian reckoned the hardest part was finding a V6 Transit MT75 gearbox, engine mounts and radiator. Yes, they did make them, but they are rare. Mostly ambulances and the odd Police van. With those bits, it's a bolt in with a small amount of wiring. Just like in a Capri or mk1/2 Granada.

In the 1970's there were no ecus which made the whole engine electrickery transfer doofer sooooo much simpler, despite your observations.
If there were 12 volts available then anything was possible..... :y

Absolutely and putting bigger Ford engines in any other Ford was quite easy and common place........V6 into a Mk1 or 2 Cortina was my favourite, don't change the gear box so no real top speed but by goodness could it get there..... :y :y

Anything still is, if you're prepared to have a dabble. ;)
