Southend council - like may others - are a joke. I spent the day down there last summer with my boy and bought a ticket to park on the front - which extends for a few miles chalkwall to shoeburyness. I bought a ticket by the Sealife Centre for the day then a few hours later moved my car about half a mile to close to the funfair. Needless to say I was slapped with a ticket during the afternoon even though I was covered until about 5pm because the parking is supposedly zoned. If I'd seen the low-life who had ticketed me I'd have tw*tted him and at least had my moneys worth. >:( I wont be venturing back in a hurry.... their loss.

They could still get a ticket if they "take up more than two spaces". That would be serious Woman parking.

It's always the little guy who gets f***ed over Varche :(
A few years ago we had an "expenses scandal" involving very well known and high profile MP's and their partners.
One MP's partner had even had the audacity to claim back £10 from the taxpayer for whatever it was meant to be for, and the investigation subsequently showed the £10 was actually for a porno movie he had ordered from HER personal cable TV account at their home address.
Many more well known names were caught "bang to rights" when the crap hit the fan, but the only patsies people who seemed to go down for the fraud were the "unknown" MP's who were running constituencies that most people hadn't even heard off.
The man in charge at the time (Tony B Liar) was the best though. He has to be the ONLY person in the UK who can get away with telling the taxman/vatman/investigators that he had destroyed the last 18 months worth of accounts paperwork and nothing was done other than for him to hand over to Gordon.
If you or I were to tell a government body that we couldn't produce something the law says we need to keep for 6 years, we'd be in court before we had time to even think of a defence.
C'est la vie :-\
