Title: headlight problem
Post by: mrgrumpy88 on 20 January 2012, 10:32:43
Hi i have just got my 52reg 2.2cd and have noticed when i look at front of car with lights on they look nice and bright but when driving at night they dont seem to light up road as they should. Have also noticed that the light adjust wheel inside car dont seem to do much. Has anyone got any ideas what the problem could be. Many thanks

NOT too sure you have a problem.  The Omega lights aren't that brillient for lighting up a dark road and the adjustment wheel doesn't move the beam all that far to beging with.

Hi all think i have it worked out the passanger side has got correct beam pattern and drivers side does not so looks like the person i got the car of has put the bulb in wrong. Will try the brighter bulbs. Thanks for your help. Spending weekend trying to sort heating problem out.

the light adjust wheel inside car dont seem to do much

if this isnt working could well be that the plastic internal adjusters have snapped  :(
if you take off back cover where you change the bulbs a try pushing the chrome reflector inside (not to hard) if it flaops about then you need the aluminium adjusters or new headlights  :y

I have checked the light while fitting superbright bulbs and noticed that the spring clip was missing and had been replaced with a bit of wire plus the inside of light is flopping about. Now waiting for the light i got of ebay to turn up then that will be that problem fixed. Thanks everyone for the help.  :y  :)

light i got of ebay to turn up

sorry to put a downer on this but check the headlight when it turns up, these headlights dont like being posted and you could find that the adjusters are broken in that one aswell, especially if second hand  :(

the plastic adjuster gets very brittle with age/heat a complete design flaw imo  >:(

but hope yours is going to be ok  :y

I am hoping they pack it well put yes will check it out first and will be worth sorting it as the back of the one thats in my car is a mess with the earth rusted and where the spring clip is attached to light is broken its had a really bad bodge job done on it. Now on to have a go at getting hot air in front of car today.

If you`re getting heat at the rear vents only check that both arms are still connected using this guide
