Ever since I first bought my Omega the climate control display has not worked at all. The display I am talking about is the long horizontal one that runs along the top of the CD player console like the one in the picture below.

As you know without it you cant tell what the climate control/fans are up to.
I have checked for a failed fuse but there is nothing showing as blown. This being the case does anyone have any ideas as to what to check next. I only ask because I dont want to cannibalise the dashboard getting to it wiring if I dont have to.
Cheers, Chris

have not seen any posts myself regarding this problem. from a general electrics point of view, any fuses you have found to be slightly related to your problem, replace them and not just inspect them would be my first port of call.

check boths plugs are firmly in there respective sockets at the rear of the climate panel, whilst it is out you can then check all lamps are working :y
be abit strange for all of them to go though :-\
this will help http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90507.0

Joiner, as Fiend suggests I'd get that panel out and make sure all is plugged in. I't's a very simple job to do.
The only minor challenge I came up against was....
When I tried to put back the metal stereo bracket (pic 2) (it easily bends to remove) I couldn't get my stereo back in afterwards. But that was me being retarded. When you pop it back in make sure it's back to it's original square shape and the stereo will slide in no problem. ;)
You'll also need stereo removal keys (£2 iirc from e-gay)
:y

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, particularly Fiend for pointing out that useful guide; saved me from 'mullering' my centre console at the very least :y
Anyway, couple of points, is there a substitute for the 2 DIN removal tool such as coat hanger wire/ TIG rods or anything as I would like to have a go at it tomorrow as I have an unplanned day off. If not then I'll order some from Ebay and do it another time.
The other point was, would it be possible to take out what I need to to get the displays connectors then jiggle them about with the ignition on to see if it flickers or comes back on proper?
-
IME experience, you really do need the proper tools to get these double-din head units out without damaging anything. I've had CCR2006's in the past that have been an incredibly tight fit!! :o
Preferably you'd want a decent set too, as the cheap ebay ones don't tend to be made very accurately. If however, they are all you can get hold of, you can file them down to create a better shape as per the guide.
Whatever you do, do not pull on the head unit fascia panel, as you will definately break it!! :y
-
Pulled out quite a few with "cheapo" tools (2006`s & 2013`s). Come out easy enough with no damage :y It`s the way you pull `em ;)

Would a ratchet strap tied to the rear head rests do the trick? :y ;D

I tried everything to get mine out including Allen keys ::) but wouldn't come out.
Have a go but if it won't come out I note you're in Bedford... I'm in Northampton if you want to pop to my work I'll get the stereo out for you! :y PM me if you want to ;)
-
Without trying to state the obvious, have you checked it's actually switched on by pressing the top left or top right rotary knobs? ;)

I'll give a try Webby but if it comes to it I might just take you up on your offer :y

If it's turned off, it should say 'OFF' on the display. :y

Rob's picking on me today! :'( I agree there's definately a nack to pulling them out Rob, but you have much more experience than the OP. Better to be safe than sorry. :y

No probs. I'll take them to work with me tomorrow and I get OOF access at work so just PM tomorrow if you want to come up. If not no worries ;)
Might just be worth checking mine will work on yours though first....
I have the two ''double prong'' removers to remove my ''2005''. Are these the right ones for your stereo?
-
First off, just went and tried to turn this display on with the ignition on and no joy, nothing at all.
Webby, mine is the CCR 2006 as shown in the first post. Ive also taken a tape and measured the hole centres and they are around 85mm ctrs if that helps.
