Hi i have fitted at moment 225/45/17s on the front & 245/40/17s on the rear... but v.soon need changing
& im removing the 17" vectra c alloys due to incorrect offset even tho i love the 5spoke elite alloy, to MV6 10 spokes after ive refurbed them...!! (polished but corroded & no laquer normal prob!)
what tyres sizes should i be running on it??
i have 2 brand new uniroyal 235/45/17s & 2 goodyears & 2 brand new uniroyal 245/40/17s
& a set of 4 235/45/17 part worns
ide like a wider rear with the new tyres i have be ok...
or do i need a 245/45/17 or 255/40/17 rear to match a 235/45/17 on front?? & keep speedo correct???

tyres on mine are 235/45/17
-
235/45/17 on all 4 if you've got Vaux 17" MV6 alloys
-
Standard MV6 size is 235/45ZR17

Very interesting... :y
checking from standard 205 65 15 that the Police used to what ive fitted 245 40 17 rears
Differance of -1mph 29 at 30mph & -2mph 58 at 60mph so guessing 90 will be -3ish i know ex cop speedo has been calibrated due2 sticker inside lense & with 225 60 15s i had fitted to it when i bought it did the best mpg, speedo smack on 30 or 60 & said the same on 2 different satnavs & a roadangel..
But on satnav speed atmo im 2/3mph out at 30 (32 speedo) & 3/4mph out at 60 (64 speedo) & 80 on speedo satnav 74/75 maybe because the 2x245/40/17s are nearly breaked only 2mm of tread on them
so i maybe better off fitting a pair of 245 45 17s on rear as they are as close as poss to the 225 60 15s that were bang on the needle & satnav calculations at the mph i was doing.

I concur. Michelin's in my case.

I've got 245/45/17 on the back and 235/45/17 on the front. No problems. That's the biggest you can get on the rim though really.

Cheers might have 2 get 2x 45s...
The 245 40 17s ive got fitted look good on rims & sodz law i bought 4 brand new uniroyals 2x 235/45/17 & 2x 245/40/17 (ok only £120!) But....
...if ide of known before that the 40s wud throw speedo out by 4/5mph ide of bought 45s not 40s! but Acceleration from 90mph to 130 takes about 10seconds or less fkin flys!!!
tryin to find a set of 18/19" alloys but either look crap or stupidly priced!
i can get 18" part worns for like £20/£30 each! but larger 17" gettin harder to find in decent matching treads, but on ebay prices are stupid atmo!! like £90 for 2 with 4mm or less of tread!
Thanks 4 the info that 245 45 17s do the job tho :y

that'll be wrong - don't use it.
at the risk of repeating myself, use only the manufacturer's quoted wheel revs per mile figure.
-
245/45 x 17 are less than a percent out

Hi checking the calculator there isnt a direct other size to match either the 205 60 15 original police spec or 234 45 17 mv6 spec size either just over or under %
Noticed lastnight that speedo is actually only 1mph out at 30-40 2mph out at 70-80 3mph at 90-100 on the 245 40 17s which i can live with but that is on neer bald tyres so new ones may only be 1mph out??? its just a pain that the wheel arches on an estate are huge & tyres look lost maybe because im using a vectra c alloys wiv a 5mm spacer as offset 41 not omega 33 may have something to do with it?? gota get my genuine 97 mv6 10spoke alloys refurbed then shud b ok....
