Title: Northern Lights
Post by: Varche on 24 January 2012, 11:34:06
Not so appropriate for Southerners (they have enough light pollution in the sky anyway) but due to unusual sun activity last night and tonight (maybe even Wednesday) are good nights to see Natures amazing free spectacle.

On TV they were saying as far south as Edinburgh but my folks in Scarborough saw it last night.

Anyone else?

I wish I could.
I only witnessed it once when driving back to Scotland one night about 1991 .It was so amazing I stopped about Beatock on the old A74 and got out and watched it.
Very surreal and beautiful , a truly astonishing spectacle .
I hope you all get a chance to witness it.

Wish I had tomorrow off, I would actually have made the trip up to Scotland for a good view.

Definitely something I want to see at least once.
