Hello All at OOF,
I say I'm new again, as I was here a few years ago with an older Omega,a 95 2.5 V6 CDX,I loved it, but it went down the V6 path of doom, with water in the oil problems and soon went to the big scrappy in the sky :/ well just up the road, but you get my drift :)
Any way I'm coming back with a newer model, although 98' 2.0 CDX Auto, may not be every ones idea of "new" or the ideal engine size, at an R reg plate its still the newest one I have owned, and it seems in quite nice condition, its Maroon, and with only 66800 miles on the ticker, looked well worth being my next ride, hopefully, for some time.
I could have gone down the 3.2 Elite road but to be honest I'm getting bored of racing at every set of lights and filling up at every other, lol. Currently running a Volvo 850 CD 2.3 T5 estate, remapped to 304 BHP with hardened suspension, its nothing short of manic, once the tyres stop slipping and actually grip there's not much keeps up with it, but at 228,000 miles its time to trade the old girl in and move on to calm, sedate driving in comfort, hence coming back to an Omega. My wife's going to be much happier :D
Picking it up this weekend, the insurance is almost half of the Volvo, and the mpg will be so much better, more smiley faces. Can't wait :D
p.s. cya on the forum soon rofl..........

I'm really glad to be back, got my car today and to be honest I'm a real bad car buyer lol, I really need to take some one with me, but anyway, occasionally I get lucky and although at first glance this new car of mine may seem a possible white elephant, I'm still glad to have got it, Im loving it already despite a few teething problems ::)
When I went back to pick it up, the previous lady owner had accidentally left the indicator lights on all day and I wasn't aware, but on this model it seems the side light remains on, old idea I dont think they use now, but inevitabily the battery in disgust went flat. My m8 who I had persuaded to take me to get it,was in fits of laughter, well I had been praising the old Omega up a bit :-[ Any way no one had jump leads to hand, 15 mins of searching later and my embarrassed seller conceded she couldnt find her leads and went next door, the very nice neighbour had a set and a few mins later with a jump start off my M8's car the old girl sprang to life.
Well Im not going to say I didnt know about the one or two faults because I did, Im still amazed though how I didnt notice ANY green alge on all the windows and electric roof rubber sills ? Although not a big problem some elbow grease will shift it, how did I miss it lol
Also I didnt check the electric roof, electric windows, electric side mirrors, air con', lights, air blowers, heating working or rear demister :P
I did check the beautiful maroon paintwork, black leather seats, the big wad of paper work, the 66800 miles on the clock, oil condition, exhaust condition and the radio/computer. Anyway, lucky for me all this other stuff works, how lucky is that ? :y
There is an engine management problem to be sorted but this is a whole lot of car for £400, who could complain ? It still drives and the gearbox is smooth, cruise control works well, all the tyres are good including the spare, I haven't had a big body auto with only a 2.0 ltr engine ever and even though its not running 100% its still so comfy and nice to drive.
maybe I'll try and update with some pics later when its had a bit of a spruce up 8)
