I'm in the middle of changing my rocker cover gasket and cleaned the breather pipes at the rear of the engine. I was wondering if anyone ever fitted another breather pipe on the rocker covers. I have a oil catch can and was thinking a taking a pipe from the rocker cover to the catch can and from it to the air filter. my nissan silvia is like this. maybe a silly idea.

The breather system already passes back into the intake, in a semi controlled manner. Doing you mod I would expect possibly a bad idle.

Would effectively introduce a vacuum leak imo. :y

As master once reminded me on asking the exact same question long ago....
The breathers are connected to the plenum, this runs a vacuume. Provided the breathers are not blocked this insures the crank case runs at negative pressure. Run a catch tank by disconnecting the breather pipes and the crank case will loose the vacuume effect and then run at positive pressure due blow by gasses from the cylinders combustion.
....oil leaks will be worse and very possibly induce early failure of front and rear crank seals. You don't want that Argo.
As master said, keep the breathers clear.

Leave as is IMO... Mine was a Full Vx serviced car with 65k when I got it and some muppet had modified the breathers into the filler neck (I assume to reduce the emulsifying of oil on short runs :-\) which basically made it suck oil and fill the intake bagpipes with oil ::)

Have it all build back up as vauxhall made it, no mods thanks for the info.
