Title: Are replacement Headlight lenses available??
Post by: Zippy2012 on 30 January 2012, 00:09:29
Hi ive got 3 sets of xenon headlights but all of them are faded & dull...

Ive even tryed flatting them down with 1500g wet & dry & G3 polishing them up & dont look too bad..

but over the last month the amount of road salt has faded them again & after polishing them yet again havent really done the job..

so i was wondering....

Can you buy replacement lenses.....???

If so where from.....????

or am i better off buying a cheep pair of brand new standard H1 H7 lights & removing lenses for the xenon units???
as i want to black out the chrome areas except main beam part & can fit new lenses same time.....

Cheers Guys

Be careful if you go this route and rub off the chrome to spray black, as the chrome is such a thin layer, that if you use masking tape in the main beam area, when you peal it off it'll take off the chrome effect as well - I know it does I've done it on mine  >:( .

When I get time (whenever that is  ::)) I'm going to investigate another method to do the Euro look on Facelift headlights.

Ahh already thort about that so im going to spray the non adjustable chrome area & use a carbon or satin effect vinal heat shrink wrap around the other areas  :y

If it works.... then i will do the other 2 sets & maybe see if anybody wants to buy them....

i do have some VERY Very low tack masking tape they use at morgan (mate runs body shop) in malvern so im going to try that 1st on a chrome area im going to paint.. if chrome part doesnt lift that maybe another option...

i let you know mate...

Just trying to souce some better lenses tho....
