Title: CCRT display problem ?
Post by: teckynou on 30 January 2012, 13:39:50
Hi.

I change the CCRT display of my vectra. the old one was totaly dead. I bought a used one from poland, swap the internal EEPROM to get my configuration, and place it in my vectra. It works, but, it seems to have a probleme : the "off pixel" and "off  icons" are really bright! in some case, hours become difficult to read, and the other lines are really ugly.

Any idea of the problem?

thanks

Looks like Wrong bulbs fitted to me (too bright)

Try a new set of genuine VX ones

Hi.

I found the real "problem".. which is not one.

I re-open my "new" display, and compare it to the broken one. Ther is a BIG hardware difference.

The broken one have more wire from the PCB to the glass : the brown wire in this picture are only in the broken display :

at the left of the display, we can see a small component, which I this is a teperature sensor. The brown wire re connect to a glass. I think this glass will be darker if the temperature is higher. My new display doesn't have this fonction.

So the background of the display is darker in the broken one, and its darkness increase with the temperature.

the "new" display is older.
