Remove radio for an hour and then refit it - (dont start pulling fuses)

You may find that your recent jump start has spiked and confused the radio, not uncommon

Apart from the ignition and battery feed, the radio also takes voltages from other associated items within the car that also have their own feeds, telematics, display, steering controls etc, and when performing a "reboot" of the stereo, it is important to make sure that the radio is the LAST thing to be powered up and not simply disconnecting and reconnecting EVERYTHING at the same time, as this will simply switch it on rather than a full software reboot.

Because of this, it is important to remove the radio and refit it, not simply disconnect battery or pull fuses, as whilst this may indeed reset something, it may not do it properly.

Thanks for the info there Dave, glad to to see that your up to speed and back on form again, it was only a couple of weeks ago you were telling us to 'give it a good thump with your left hand' to fix faults like this.

Chris.  ;) ;)

To be fair, the "thump" method was for a different fault . . . .

. . . . . More to the point, it worked !!

Only messing Dave, forgot to mention it fixed itself before I had a chance to get my mitts on it, seemed like a few park ups and restarts sorted it next day. Whats that saying 'dont try and fix something that isn't broken'

Thanks for that James, actually that's not the issue, biggest problem is getting a Cab back, then trying to remember where you've parked your Cars the next day. How do you think I've ended up with so many Migs, wasn't plan that way you know.

So would the software reset have fixed this issue? :-\

(press and hold clear and main for 6 seconds or more?)

I`ve yet to see anything usefull from that particular software reset -  :-\

If you liken it to a computer, its a bit like logging out and logging back in, same software is still running, and only real remedy is to turn the thing off completely - to do that in a car means removal of power

Actually did try that Chris, was having none of it, stuck on FM no matter what button was pressed, that's what made me think 'Stuck Button@ originally.
