i was thinkng about doing a complete coolent flush on my car.
how do i go about doing this on an omega. done it on my womens 206 with no problems but was wondering if it was the same for all cars.
NOTE i want to do it properly.

bledding the air out by repeated squeezing top rad hose...

sorry to ask but where bouts is that

You'll know when you squeeze it as you'll see air bubbles being forced up out the coolant but it's a biggish pipe that runs by the side of the header tank :y

at the top of the radiator ::) ::) ::)
I'd also be squeezing the bottom radiator hose ........... found at the bottom of the rad. ;) ;) ::)

top rad hose is t'other side of the engine from the header tank .......... top hose is virtually next the battery. ;)

I also note on the diesel there is a drain directly from the block i would imagine. a lot easier than my v6 (and anyone else with a v6) as you can only get 50% of coolant out at a time, hence having to flush it

oh. lol. well which one was i squeezing then? i assumed i'd got the right one as i was forcing air thru it lol

but the rad tap is easy to get at though. :y :y

TD having a block drain (like your beloved senator iirc) and a rad drain makes it easier to completely renewal coolant :). Not that its hard on a v6, just more time consuming...

I thought the cooling system was self bleeding
never done this on my car and with no problems.

not much to do is there... most of the time is spent drinking tea while coolant comes out ;D ;D

It usually is. Occasionally you do get a lock though...

I'm not sure where TD's came into this thread ........... ??? ??? ???
You've obviously never seen where the block drain plug was a straight 6 ............ They were that accessible that I'd never ever seen mine in 10 yrs of Senator ownership! (under the exhaust manifold IIRC) ;) ;)
