I have two rusty TD elite auto estates in the driveway :'(. If I can fit an engine and auto into a vintage Bmw 525 will the ecu mind if there are no speed signals from ABS.
I doubt I have enough posts for a parts/classified ad but ! One is S reg no leather. Other is 97 Dublin reg with black Recaro leather. Both in Dublin.

engine ecu won't mind if it has no ABS connection - it'll need an immobiliser connection tho.
BUT, you'd probably want to run with the BMW ecu anyway, as its much better.
Transmission ECU won't mind either.

Thanks for that,
But the 525 is a 1978 petrol.
Will the engine & box be happy with an ecu from a 525TDS?

happier than one from an Omega. You'll get back the missing 30 horsepower

I'd go for a manual gearbox if going that route, though.. In fact, I'd go for a manual gearbox anyway rather than mess about getting the auto to work.
