Have searched and read one or two posts about this and it seems there are two types of switch assemblies. Pre facelift and facelift types. can someone tell me how to improve the illumination to the switch symbols,(the white ones).If I remove the D shaped panel there is a T shaped black plastic bulb holder with a fairly feeble bulb secured inside it. Can I get a new one with a better bulb in it. Car is a 2001 3.2 elite Omega. If I have to go to vauxhall for it what is the part number.

That`s illumination for the heater vent, the switch itself needs to be removed and the bulb to be replaced is self-evident at rear of switch. Switch is held in by a metal sprung clip either side, may find it easier to push out from the rear with the "D" panel removed though be advised that only the switch comes out not the rear plug

Thanks RobG. I have already had the thing out and the bulb is working. I just thought the illumination was very poor, maybe thats how its supposed to be. Carts.

OK, any outher mouse traps I should know about. Sounds a bit of a crude way to me. How much is a new switch box if I knacker it.

Maybe, but that`s how they come apart. Replacement switch from a breaker, £10-15.
PS. Illumination will not be as bright as the dash lights or any of the other displays due to the 0.5W bulb

Hello again RobG, I will have another look at it but not today. Its too bloody cold here to be faffing about outside. Need door open wide as I`m not as young and agile as I used to be. Thanks again for all your help. Carts. who will be an octagenarion this year.
