I've been given an unopened 5 litre can of Texaco Havoline Energy 5W/30. I'm not sure if this is semi-synthetic or synthetic oil as it is not mentioned on the tin.
Any good for a V6 Omega, chaps?.

Seems like the oil is a bit thin to me I would stick with the vauxhall 10/40 engine oil.

I've used Mobil 1 before now which is 0W/40, without any problems. Even in the summer I found this piss thin lube to be fine. :y

5w30 is the manufacturer specified grade of oil for the 2.6/3.2. ;)
It'll be fine, IMHO.

Thanks Kevin. I thought it would be O.K. No point in throwing out 5 litres of reasonable quality oil.... :y
Is it F/S or S/S does anyone know?

"Synthetic", apparently. Whatever that means these days. It's ACEA A1 and A5 so perfectly adequate for an Omega, IMHO.
This is the right time of year for a 5w30 oil, too. ;)

5w30 should be fine! And it would be fully synthetic! :y
