I had said that I was very interested and would buy if car was 'as suggested'
A 52 plate 2.2 CD Auto saloon in star silver..... :y
I looked around the car then knocked on the door thanking them but explaining it was 'not for me' I did look tidy but failed on closer inspection, lots of tiny rusty stone chips and rust on the lower edge of the doors and a few scratches, some may have polished out but £1200 I was expecting, and have seen, better; I even had the money in my pocket, they may reduce the price, they know how to get in touch with me but our old estate is more solid..... ::) ::)

Why not just throw a few quid at the one you've got Vamps ? ???

This is one option we are thinking of about, it's a good solid base and 'better the devil you know' etc :-\ :-\

Also Vamps, don't forget some people's idea of ''this car is in mint condition'' is generally on the optimistic side of your and my own >:( ::) ::) ::)
If I was looking I'd ask for up close pics of wheel arches and prone rust spots before committing to go down and see it :y

I agree, but this was a local, to work car, so no real problem to view.. :y About 18 months ago I got a member to go and view a car for me as it was a long way from home, a great advantage of OOF.... :y :y
Our old, 98, estate does not even have any rust under the rear wiper or any of the tops of the doors, common problem area's.......At what point do you replace or refurbish..... :-\ :-\ :-\
