Do you really need to take off the front bumper to replace the bottle, as suggested by Haynes?

haynes usully say the best way to do something. not sure if you HAVE to take off bumper, but i myself would always stick to the manual

The bottle is right behind the actual bumper bar behind the plastic 'bumper' :y :y The washer pumps will come out of the bottle though without it's removal, not sure about the level switch :-\

er no...... :D :D I guess it is possible the pump has fallen out, the filler hose had, but think the bottle was broken in the collision with a deer.... :( :(

OK. The front bumper isn't hard to remove, a few plastic 'rivets & a few self tapper and that's it. ;) ;) I can't remember how the actual bumper bar comes off :-\ but an Astra G's is half a dozen nuts fastened to studs welded to the front of the car. :y

Bugger, might consider fitting a secondary system......That is the sort of stuff I CAN do :-\ :-\ :-\

its not that hard to remove the bumper it sounds hard but its quite straight forward really. :y

not sure about the level switch
yup level switch will come out in situ seem to remember taking out headlight to gain access :y bit fiddley but possible :y

On mine the pump had popped out so pushed it back in again. It kept on sliding back out every week or two so resorted to removing the pump and rubber grommet, drying evrything off, then reassembling with a smear of gasket sealerbetween all faces to ensure they 'stuck' together. Pretty sure I did the level sensor as well and all without removing the bumper. Thats on a facelift though, would be more of a wrestle on a PFL.

I need to have a proper look in the hope that the pump or level switch have fallen out, been too cold and snowy to look this weekend..... ::) ::) ::)
