Not really a glow plug problem, though I would like to know were the sender is that tells the car it needs glow plugs or not, sometimes it needs a little help especially in summer. Just yesterday it was stood for an hour & a half after a run, enough in these temps for the engine to lose temp, but the glow plugs wouldn't come on & it was a pig to start. I've checked plugs, relay & all work fine. I would like to be given the option myself to use plugs or not.
Thanks

have you checked leak off pipes, these can make the dti a bitch to start when they start going,

I've just swapped the pipes out with new ones. I'm thinking fuel, but I'm not sure :-\ Just starting with the simple & cheapest :y

Easiest way to prove the leak off pipes is to park with the nose facing down hill and see if it starts as normal when it's cold.

Andy, shouldn't that be nose facing up hill ?

I was always taught to face the car downhill so gravity aids the flow of the fuel. :-\
If you park facing uphill and the leak off pipes are weaping then the fuel can run back to towards the tank as there is no vacuum.

See what you're saying there, I read you post in a different way ;)
